NCA Cheer Camp '08

The Sequim High School Junior Varsity and Varsity Cheer squads attended an NCA cheer camp at UDUB in Seattle August 4th - 7th. While there, the girls were trained on proper technique, saftey in stunting, and a wide variety of dances, cheers and chants. It was also expressed to them the importance of their responsibility as representatives of their school to be positive role models and leaders at school, as well as in their community. The Junior Varsity squad received a trophy for Most Improved and both squads came home with Outstanding, Excellent, and Superior ribbons for material that they learned and were evaluated on. Both squads also brought home the coveted Spirit Stick award, which represents their enthusiasm and their ability to work well together and overcome challenges and their willingness to cheer on other squads attending camp. Caihley Baker, Kelsie Dotlich, Kayla Forshaw, Persephone Nelson, and Maddy Zbaraschuk were nominated by their coach for the All American Squad. Those in attendance at the camp were Sara Schade, Mishel Arthur, Kayla Forshaw, Lauren Hendrickson, Olivia Fazio, Taylor Osterman, Captain Kelsie Dotlich, Lindsay Merrel, Persephone Nelson, Captain Holly Hudson, Captain Caihley Baker, Sierra Shelden, Captain Clara Duncan, Chantelle Holgerson, Alexi Nelson, Mackenzie Hagstrom, Captain Brianna Gilles, Maddy Zbaraschuk, Gabby Sanchez, Gloria Nesse, and Serena Okamoto.
