CROP FUNDRAISER WAS A FUN SUCCESS!
We had a good turnout at our first ever Scrapbook Crop Fundraiser!
It was FUN! Thanks so much to all the cool peeps who supported Wolves Cheer by purchasing tickets and attending the event. Thank you also to the cheerleaders and parents, friends and family who sold tickets and showed up to help sell snacks and give away prizes!
An especially BIG THANK YOU to all of your sponsors who helped make this such a successful event:
Meg from Stampin' Up!
The Cracked Bean
Cathy at DOODLEBUGS
Thanks to Tara for taking AMAZING profile photos. Thanks to Meg for the awesome Make and Takes. Thanks to Cracked Bean for offering 15% off coupons for all of our guests.
Thanks SO MUCH to Cathy for coming up with the idea and for providing us with Goodie Bags and awesome door prizes that we gave away every half hour of the event. Along with cute Make and Takes, she also provided us with a Sizzix BIG SHOT die cutting system and dies to go with that we raffled off at the event.
We are looking forward to doing another CROP in January, and hope to benefit not only the Cheerleaders, but also the American Heart Association.
I hope that it will be even BIGGER and BETTER the next time around!
THANKS again to everyone who helped SUPPORT WOLVES CHEER!

Ok, there's LOTS of stuff going on, so I just thought I would post it here for you to look at.
If you have been at practice, you've received your new calendar, and you've heard all of this before, but it doesn't hurt to follow up with a little visual reminder.
JV meet on Wednesday night (August 11th) at 6:30 at the Dungeness Spit. (First parking lot on the right)
VARSITY meet on Thursday night (August 12th) for pictures at 6pm at the SHS Football Field. We will go to John Wayne Marina from there for more pictures.
Follow the instructions on the flyers that you were given. Bring your check or money to the photo shoot, and choose your photos later from an on-line viewing gallery.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Tara, she is not your everyday, run of the mill photographer. She is a very talented professional. Her images are stunning. It's a good opportunity to preserve your cheer memories and pay a lower than normal price for her photos. Please take advantage.
Thursday is the last chance for you to bring $10 if you would like to purchase a
cheerLEADERship camp/clinic t-shirt. These shirts will be a one of a kind custom order with all of our names on them. I'm ordering Friday, so if you would like to buy one, bring your money to practice on Thursday.
I still need more volunteers for our community service events on Saturday and Sunday, the 14th and 15th of August. I will have sign up sheets at practice. These are fun events, and it's good for us to be able to give back to the community when they do so much for us. Please participate if you are able. Call or Facebook me if you need more info about the events.
Please keep selling those CROP tickets! All the money for the tickets that you sell, goes directly towards paying off your uniform, so it's a good fundraiser for you. I will need a count of how many tickets have been sold by early next week so that we can work on putting together goodie bags for all those who purchase pre-sale tickets.
Tara is the photographer at this event, so once again, it's an opportunity to get awesome quality photographs from a pro photographer at a fraction of the price you would normally expect to pay. Pass that info on to anyone who is thinking about purchasing a ticket. And check out Tara's website by clicking on the link above.
There's lots more going on, but this is a good start. Take a look at your calendars to see what else is in store for the next couple of weeks. Please don't hesitate to call me if you have questions or if something comes up and you need to talk.
Next, what I'd like to do right now is express my gratitude for all those cheerleaders who have been making a huge effort to be at all of the practices this summer and to learn the material. You are appreciated and we do notice your hard work and improvement. For that, I would just like to say THANK YOU!
Sometimes it's easy for Kim and I to focus on the negative because obviously we need people to be there to learn and perfect the material. When they aren't, it puts is in a bad position. I know it's summer and people are busy, but we are a team and we've made commitments to each other. It's frustrating for Kim and I when people aren't at scheduled practices, especially when it's people who are new and don't know the material, and don't have a clue what they are doing. We are running short on time, and I'm afraid that some of you may find yourself sitting on the bench come the start of the season, because you are not ready to stand in front of a crowd to perform. It's not something that we want, obviously, but it's not fair to make the rest of the team look bad when they've made the effort and put in the time. Be aware, that once August 18th hits, practices are mandatory, and there will be consequences for missing. We may have to add practices to the schedule, also, since some people have missed and need to get caught up. We have a camp coming up and a performance on the first day of school. There will probably be evening practices the week of the cheerLEADERship clinic - so be prepared to show up and work hard.
Also, a little hint for those of you who just show up - and don't work hard. Another reminder that this is your tryout for next year. Some of you made cheer because we gave you the benefit of the doubt. This is the time for you to prove yourself. Your attendance, your effort, your attitude, all of that will be taken into consideration next year during tryouts. It takes more than just "showing up."
Again, A BIG THANK YOU for all of you who have been showing up and working hard. You are the ones who win - you've improved and accomplished so much.
Your hard work and your accomplishments have not gone unnoticed.
